CRACK REPAIR

High Pressure Membrane Injection

With over 20 years of experience, we are experts in Chemical Injection. This system involves injecting chemicals under pressure into concrete structures to stop water ingress, protect reinforcement, and restore structural integrity. It is effective for:

  • Basement water ingress
  • Leaking block walls and brickwork
  • Concrete pools, ponds, spas, and tanks
  • Lift pits
  • Cracked concrete with water ingress
  • Car parks
  • Overhead concrete ceilings
  • Warehouses
  • Concrete slabs

Polyurethane and epoxy are commonly used chemicals that expand and solidify when injected, creating a barrier within the crack or joint to stop water leaks.

Epoxy Crack Repair

We repair everything from minor hairline fractures to significant structural damage in concrete. Specialising in membrane crack injection, we address both structural and dynamic crack repairs.

Depending on the type of crack, we typically use Polyurethane (PU) for flexible repairs of dynamic cracks, and Epoxy for structural crack repairs.

  • Syringe or gravity injection – Low Pressure
  • Paste-on injection packers – Medium Pressure
  • Packer injection – High Pressure

Epoxy Injection for Structural Crack Repairs: This method is used to enhance the structural integrity of cracked concrete elements. Before beginning the injection process, it's crucial to understand the origin of the crack, determine the need for structural repair, and assess the likelihood of the crack reappearing after repair.

If a crack has the potential to reoccur, we might cut a new joint or use polyurethane for non-structural cracks. For structural repairs, epoxy resins are preferred due to their superior physical properties compared to concrete. These resins are specifically formulated for tight crack injection and are moisture insensitive, allowing them to bond with wet concrete. They also offer varying curing properties, from semi-rigid to flexible, to suit different repair needs.

Pools & Water Features:

If your concrete pool or water feature is cracked or leaking, we can help. Cracked concrete in pools or water features can lead to water loss, which is both frustrating and costly. Using a chemical injection system, we eliminate water ingress through the cracks, providing a lasting solution. It's best to address these issues promptly to avoid further complications.

The Solution for Fixing Your Cracked or Leaking Pool or Water Feature:

Chemical Injection: This method involves injecting polyurethane or epoxy into concrete structures to prevent water ingress. Using airless pumps, the chemicals are injected at either low or high pressure based on the specific requirements of the job. This process creates a barrier within the crack or void, effectively stopping any water from entering.

Basement Waterproofing:

Basement Waterproofing Water penetrating basement walls, floor joints, staircases, ceilings, or cracks in the slab/foundations can lead to significant issues. Common problems include:

  • Water ingress
  • Slippery surfaces
  • Damage to vehicles and machinery
  • Personal injury
  • Damage to reinforcement
  • Reduced structural integrity

We specialize in basement waterproofing and have been providing effective solutions for over 20 years. Our techniques include:

  • Chemical Injection: This method stops water ingress through concrete structures by injecting chemicals (usually Polyurethane or Epoxy) into the affected areas. This creates a barrier that prevents further water entry. Chemical injection is particularly useful in basements where external access is not possible. It can address issues like cracks in concrete slabs, floor-wall joints, vertical joints, pipe penetrations, lift pits, control joints, and walls (block wall, concrete panels, brickwork, etc.).

FAQs

Crack Repair and Injection Resins

How Do Crack Repair and Injection Resins Work?

When the structural integrity of concrete is compromised, injection resins are used to fill and seal cracks and voids caused by corrosion, seismic activity, or physical impact. This process restores the strength and durability of the affected concrete.

What Makes the Injection Repair System Unique?

The injection system is designed to be used wherever cracks appear in buildings and concrete structures. It offers effective resistance and protection against further deterioration and the ingress of water, corrosive fluids, and other contaminants.

Our epoxy- and polyurethane-based injection resins are ideal for structural crack repair. These resins are easily injected into the cracks, penetrating deeply to fill and seal them. This process restores the load-bearing capacity and structural integrity of the concrete.
